U16B

The Wolverines U16B coaching staff is building on three years of growth, resilience, and competitive success — and we’re looking to add a few exceptional athletes to our 2027 roster. If you’re athletic, motivated, hard‑working, and committed to your teammates, you may be exactly who we’re looking for.

We train with purpose, compete with intensity, and value athletes who bring consistency, accountability, and a desire to improve every single day. Our program thrives on effort, discipline, and camaraderie — the qualities that turn good players into great teammates.

While the athletes are central to any team, the parents are equally vital. Their patience, consistent support for both players and coaches, and their willingness to contribute behind the scenes are key factors in the team’s growth and success.

If you’re ready to push yourself, support your team, and embrace a culture built on development and collective success, the Wolverines U16B could be the perfect fit.

What's an 'Open Gym'??

Open gym sessions give athletes a chance to train and play volleyball in the Wolverines environment without the pressure of tryouts or the time commitment of camps.

Open gyms are:

  • A one-day commitment
  • Structured and supervised
  • Focused on reps, effort, and game play
  • Affordable and accessible; just $10!

Athletes do not need to worry about making a team or being evaluated. They do need to show up ready to work.

For many athletes, an open gym is the first real introduction to the Wolverines. These sessions help athletes:

  • Learn what Wolverines practices feel like
  • Meet potential future teammates
  • Spend time around Wolverines coaches
  • Decide whether our club is a good fit

Lower pressure does not mean lower expectations. Effort, focus, and respect still matter.

Be prepared

Registration is required.
Athletes must be registered and paid in advance to attend open gym. Drop-ins are not permitted.

Open gym sessions involve continuous movement and game play. Athletes should expect a physically active session in a warm gym environment.

Athletes should come prepared with:

  • Indoor athletic shoes
  • Knee pads – The best selection is available at United Source for Sports in Edmonton
  • Comfortable athletic clothing that allows full movement
  • A large, leak-prooof water bottle
  • Long hair tied back securely

Volleyballs are provided unless otherwise noted.
